The Boosting Inexperienced Employment and Enterprise Alternatives in Ghana (GrEEn) mission is a 4-year motion funded by the European Union via its Emergency Belief Fund for Africa. Carried out by SNV Netherlands Growth Organisation and the UN Capital Growth Fund (UNCDF) in shut partnership with the Ministry of Native Authorities and Rural Growth. GrEEn goals at creating jobs for over 5,000 individuals via the promotion of inexperienced jobs and progress of Ghana’s native, round economic system. The mission will obtain this by enhancing expertise and rising entry to finance for youth, girls and returning migrants in addition to Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) within the Ashanti and Western areas of Ghana.

SNV Ghana, as a part of the GrEEn Venture will probably be offering expertise coaching to job seekers and entrepreneurs in three sectors: renewable power, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and local weather resilient agriculture in addition to supporting the profitability of inexperienced start-ups.

The GrEEn Venture is being applied in two areas in Ghana : the Ashanti and Western areas and targets:

  • Youth
  • Ladies
  • Returning migrants
  • Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)

GrEEn’s particular targets

1: To assist the transition of native economies to inexperienced and local weather resilient growth

2: To enhance the employability and entrepreneurship capabilities of chosen individuals by matching them with market alternatives and mentoring into (self-)employment and enterprise growth (with a deal with inexperienced and local weather resilient native economies)

3: To create and strengthen native ecosystems that assist youth (self-)employment and the event of MSMEs.

SNV will probably be specializing in the next two outcome areas:

  • Employability and entrepreneurship capabilities of youth, girls and returnees are improved in sectors of financial alternatives
  • Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs), providing respectable and sustainable jobs to youth, girls and returnees, are incubated and/or accelerated and contribute to inexperienced and local weather resilient native economies.

The important thing targets of the GrEEn mission for SNV are the next:

  1. No less than 5,000 individuals educated and coached for employability and entrepreneurship (youth: 60-80%, girls: 40-60% and returnees: 10%);
  2. No less than 3,500 individuals have created or developed self-employment alternatives (youth: 60-80%, girls: 40-60% and returnees: 5-10%);
  3. No less than 100 MSMEs have been incubated or accelerated to broaden their enterprise (disaggregated by variety of staff, sector and district);
  4. No less than 1,500 respectable and sustainable jobs created by MSMEs (youth: 60-80%, girls: 40-60%);
